<p>Good story. I was a ‘runner’ in San Francisco a few years ago and showed up at a closed gate. The ramp was retracted, and the plane was just sitting there. After 5 minutes of staring with puppydog eyes at the plane, the ticket agents took pity on me and asked the flight crew to let me on. They walked me down to the ramp station and actually extended the ramp and docked it to the plane with me standing there in the opening. It hasn’t gotten much more last minute than that.
