Anniversaries

I’m not usually one for remembering anniversaries, my own or other people’s.  I’m not sure why.  It’s not that milestones don’t register with me; call it a problem of data storage and retrieval.

The reason I mention this now is that yesterday, the day of my twenty-one year high school reunion, was the three year anniversary of the founding of this here blog.  I’d have completely missed it (as I missed anniversaries one and two), but for the nostalgia produced by yesterday’s events, which made me think about the passage of time, which made me reflect that… it was mid-June, wasn’t it?  And a little ExpressionEngining later, the discovery that yes, in fact, it was yesterday.

So happy anniversary to me.  An overflow of obsolescence here, and more in production, always.

More about the reunion when I can think clearly again.

    Fascinating.

Not only have I been drawn here by making the same error that you did with Mike/Matt Taibbi, but I, too, overlooked my blog anniversary [yesterday] as well.

Happy anniversary to us, then, my fellow blogging narcissist.  Happy anniversary, indeed.

P.S.  If your 21st high school reunion was this weekend that makes you three years closer to 40 than I am.

    Neener neener.

Wow.  I haven’t been neener neenered in a long, long time.

Except:  I was a year ahead in school, so I’m at most two years closer to 40 than you.

And I’m mighty well-preserved, if I do say so myself.  So if we get into how close to 40 we look, my money’s on me getting in a little neener neener action of my own.

Besides, as I kept telling people Saturday, I read in a magazine not long ago that 50 is the new 30.  Which means that I’m still way under 30, but much smarter than I was in my actual 20s…

Honestly, I haven’t neener neenered in a long time, either.

    Think convergence.

I’ve been living according to the Thai calendar since 1988.  It is the year 2548 in Thailand now.  This adds 543 to my age, however I don’t look a day over 35.

Also, no matter how hard I try, I am unable to grow a moustache or beard.

Put that in your pipe and smoke it.
